Wild Goose chase

Barnacle Geese at Snettisham with 400+ Pink feet on Ken Hill Marsh.

Grey Plovers at Heacham

Snettisham Coastal park to the Ski ramp at Hunstanton and back

Wheatear: 0
Ring Ouzel: 0
Black Redstart: 0

Sunday was spent dipping Red-breasted Geese at Wells and Stiffkey. A Purple Sandpiper in flight over the harbour at high tide was the hilight. Otherwise, the biting wind and frequent hail showers did little to lift our spirits of ever finding the Geese.

Lifes unfair...

Whilst the rest of the birding community is down in Cormwall having the time of their lives I am currently stuck in Bedford. Thanks to £25 of unhelthy petrol the car is currently out of action and is likely to remain that way for some time yet. Fair enough it it was in January or early July but with the appearance of the first Great Spotted Cuckoo and potential from the likes of Alpine Accentor and the first of the spring Bluethroat the feeling of anticipation is understandably high. Any way... enough moaning, here are a couple of Lapwing shots from the pits at Snettisham RSPB.
