Dungeness Crane

After initially finding the bird in flight, it dropped down into one of the fields behing hookers pits and and was watched at very close range as it rested in the same spot for well over an hour. Despite this it was only seen by 6 or 7 birders and could not be found the next day. The first group of Redwing put in an appearance and 5 Song Thrush were present around the reserve today. Numbers of Robin have been gradually increasing and Chiffchaff have largely replaced Willow Warblers, with at lest 6 birds present in the pines at the top of ARC, and numerous others around the reserve.
